Teacher of Firm Foundation Fellowship Church in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The emphasis of his pulpit ministry is the careful study and verse-by-verse exposition of the Bible, with special attention devoted to the historical and grammatical background behind each passage. Under Kenneth's leadership, Firm Foundation Fellowship Church's one Sunday morning worship service and one Wednesday night bible study led by the pastor-teachers who are dedicated to equipping members for ministry. Kenneth and his wife, Gaynell, live in Texas and have seven adult children: They also enjoy the enthusiastic company of their grandchildren.
Kenneth's Mother as a young woman, she met and married James Allen Jr. and they had a son whom they named Kenneth Eugene Allen. With hearts that were full of hopes and dreams, they began to plan for their life together.
When thinking about my mother, a couple of the things I remember while growing up was that she was very disciplined and patient. She never gave up. While I was in school, she would cook dinner and when I got home I was able to eat.
But that is not all that I remember about Mom. She was an encourager—a person who always cheered for me and encouraged me to do my best. By best, she meant, "Do the very best you can, and God will take care of the rest." A large part of the foundation of my life is based on this truth.
"Anytime I went to Mom with a problem, she never said, "Kenneth I'm too busy".' She always stopped whatever she was doing and listened. I never saw her become angry and she was far more forgiving than I knew how to be.
On top of this, she was very giving. When we had very little, if someone dropped by who had less than us, Mom would find something in the refrigerator to give away.
I grew up to be a man whose heart was and is totally captured by God.
The most important part of his ministry is the truths of God’s word being given from the pulpit every time he teaches. He strives only speaking on what the Bible speaks on and not on what man’s interpretation or his own opinion. That is why his ministry is built around verse by verse exposition and careful study of the Bible. Boyd (BJ) Farrington and his wife, Aleta, been living in Jacksonville, NC off and on since 1972 do to his career in the Marine Corps. They have three adult children, seven wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
I was raised by my mother after my father’s death on my grandparents’ farm on the eastern shore of Maryland along with my brother and sisters. I credit my mother and my grandparents with my up bringing. They instilled in me the values and understanding of life I have this very day. They taught me the benefit of hard work, how to treat people and to trust in God. Both my mother and grandmother introduce me to the Lord. I remember going to Sunday school and church many Sunday not knowing that the seed (Word of God) was being planted that would later fill my heart and be committed to teaching God’s Word. This came about after meeting Ken Allen the founder of Firm Foundation Fellowship in 2002.Who became my Teacher, Pastor, and friend and brother who began teaching me what the Bible says.
Has a true appreciation for the Apostle Paul's exhortation to Timothy to "let no one despise your youth..". As the youngest of the Firm Foundation Fellowship pastors', what he may "lack" in the area of life experience, God has compensated for by blessing him with wisdom, patience and a sincere love for His people. He and his lovely wife Latowanda share 3 beautiful children. He has resided in the Jacksonville, NC area since 2002 and after being somewhat "stagnant" and frustrated with the lack of his spiritual growth in a previous church, something happened. Being "raised" in the church, Omari felt like he "knew" the Bible pretty well. One day he was invited to play a Bible trivia game with a group of friends. Unbeknownst to them, he took the beating he received quite personally and that night he could not sleep. With a bruised ego and battered pride all he knew was that he never wanted to feel that way again. That night he prayed to the Lord to "please send me somebody to teach me Your Word". Less than two weeks later he met Pastor/Teacher and Founder of Firm Foundation Fellowship Mr. Kenneth Allen who by the Spirit of God "opened" the Scriptures to him and Omari hasn't wanted to nor been able to close them to this very day. Omari has a God-given gift and desire to study, understand, and expound God's Word in a manner that serves the body of Christ well. The emphasis of his pulpit ministry is one of attentive study and verse by verse exposition of the Bible, teaching in a manner that inspires others to greater knowledge of the Lord through and by His Word.
